Live Goats for SaleNepali Goat Farming Traditions | Serving DFW Area
Sajha Ranch was born from a dream to bring the heart of Nepal to the lands of Texas. Founded by a family of first-generation immigrants, the ranch is a celebration of tradition, sustainability, and the rich cultural connection Nepalis share with goat meat—especially during festivals and family gatherings.
Our founders grew up in the heart of Kathmandu Valley—where rooftop gatherings, temple bells, and the scent of fresh momo defined daily life. Though far from goat herding villages, they were deeply connected to the rhythms of family feasts, Dashain celebrations, and the cherished tradition of sharing khasi meat with loved ones. After settling in the U.S., they longed to bring back a piece of that cultural warmth—not just through food, but through a place. Sajha Ranch was born to recreate those meaningful moments: a farm where community, culture, and Nepali hospitality come alive, right here near DFW.
Sajha means "shared" or "together" in Nepali — a fitting name for a place where tradition and modern practices come together, and where the community is always welcome.
We raise our goats with the utmost care, ensuring they have open space to roam, a natural diet, and a stress-free environment. Our goats are truly free-range, farm-raised, and nurtured in a setting that allows them to thrive. Whether you're visiting for a farm tour, attending a cultural event, or purchasing a goat, we warmly welcome you as part of our extended family.
At Sajha Ranch, we welcome visitors to unwind in our open countryside setting, complete with a traditional barbecue pit and spacious picnic area. Whether you're planning a family outing or simply seeking a peaceful getaway close to DFW, our farm offers the perfect spot for a relaxing Nepali day picnic. Surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals, Sajha Ranch is an ideal close-by escape where guests can connect, cook, and enjoy the open skies—just an hour from the city, yet worlds away in serenity.
At Sajha Ranch, we honor the cultural roots of Nepali families by offering traditional khasi (goat) processing in a respectful and authentic way—especially during festivals like Dashain. The process begins with a calm and humane slaughter, followed by singeing the goat’s fur using straw or flame to preserve flavor, as is customary in Nepal. The goat is then thoroughly cleaned and massaged with turmeric (besar) and warm water, a natural antiseptic ritual believed to purify the meat and enhance its aroma. This method reflects not just tradition, but care, community, and respect for the animal.
Whether you're celebrating Dashain or simply seeking a familiar Nepali-style meat preparation close to DFW, Sajha Ranch provides an experience that feels like home.
